Ghinda | Design Intern
September 2012-April 2013 | Columbus,OH

During my internship at Ghinda, I learned what responsibilities entail when running a small couture business. I became more fluent in pattern making, draping, branding, and marketing. I also had a chance to contribute for the Spring 2014 collection by not only being a part of the process, but also by coming out with my own sketches for the line. I learned more about the couture aspect- the hand beading and hand sewing. I also got to be a part of the photoshoots and see what needs to be done backstage, for the glamorous shots that results in the end. Also had a chance to be back stage during a mini fashion show and help get the models ready. I was also involved in the editorial process, that happens after the phootshoot. For example, what to look for when choosing a photograph for a magazine, and choosing the layout.
